Day 1 – Dover
Arrival at Dover and let your tour begin!

First activity is the entrance to Dover Castle (self-guided Tour with its Great Tower, Medieval Tunnels, Roman Painted House and The Secret Wartime Tunnels) followed by a majestic  visit to the White Cliffs of Dover with a guide and within the view on the Shakespeare Cliff .

British Teatime experience at the South Foreland Lighthouse and free time to enjoy the little city at your own peace.

Day 2 – Canterbury and Leeds
Visit to the Canterbury Cathedral and to the city centre; this quaint city is known as the centre of English Christianity and is home to the gorgeous Canterbury Cathedral. You’ll visit the cathedral and learn all about its fascinating history – Archbishop Thomas Becket was gruesomely murdered here in 1170. The cathedral has seen 104 archbishops in its time!

Enjoy then some free time in Canterbury city centre with the possibility of tasting a proper British fish & chips in a local pub and depart then towards Leeds Castle for the visit to this spectacular fortress located in the Kent countryside. The castle sits in the middle of a lovely lake and was once coined ‘the loveliest castle in the world’ and is situated in over 500 acres of landscaped parkland.

You will take a tour to see both the inside and out of this spectacular former royal residence. Henry VIII and his first wife Catherine of Aragon once lived at Leeds Castle in the 16th century!

Day 3 – Hastings and Bodiam Castle
Visit to the Hastings Battle Abbey and Battlefield, locations of the most famous battle in the English history – the 1066 Battle of Hastings (small curiosity: the battle didn’t take place in Hastings, but it was fought 6 miles away at what is now the town of Battle).

While the original abbey church is long gone (a victim of Henry VIII’s spree of monastery destruction), several other crumbling abbey buildings from the thirteenth-century and later can still be explored; this is an excellent visit for history lovers to discover the background to the battle and describes how events played out on the day.

Enjoy then a short walking tour in Hastings City centre, for a lovely sightseeing of the pier and of the Hastings Castle; there may be the option as well, for those who want, to visit the famous Smugglers Cave, a series of underground tunnels tracing the steps of smugglers, with sound effects and costumed staff. entrance).

Last for today will be the visit to the charming Bodiam castle, a 14th century moated castle with ruined interior, a real glimpse of medieval splendour set in the heart of an historic landscape, with spiral staircases, battlements and a portcullis, this castle is one of Britain’s most picturesque and romantic ancient monuments.
